Chipin out of the Payment Service
I wrote a long winded explanation of the changes to our payment service, but decided to keep this post short and to the point. This weekend we decided to end Chipin holding money for events and require all organizers to use their Paypal account to receive money directly. There are numerous reasons for this change, some deal with risk management (fraud), administrative costs, change in business focus, and a strengthening of our partnership with Paypal. One other reason is that Paypal can accept money from 60 different countries, while we can only accept U.S. currencies. We are working hard on a new Chipin.com that should be unveiled in the next month.
Don’t worry.. we are as healthy as ever and are landing some very impressive new clients for our white label system. We just need to focus and the value of us holding the money for our business did not justify the costs in time and money.
Again.. thank you very much for your continued support and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments.

Hi Chipin,
My event to raise funds ended on March 3, 2007 although I had hoped to extend it until June 30. I dont have a Paypal account so I signed up using the Chipin account. I cant seem to extend the ended event nor start a new one without a paypal account. Please help me extend the existing one if at all possible since the time was too short to raise the target amount. If that is not possible is there a way you can make a one-time exception for us to start a new event using the chipin account until we establish a paypal account? The problem is that we have the widget/dashboard linked to our website and people cannot donate online anymore since the event ended. Eventually we hope to sign up with Paypal on a permanent basis.
Thank you so much for your cooperation. For further information please visit our website at http:www.friendxofafrica.org.
