Post Turkey Day Update

Turkey day was supposed to be a quiet time for the team so everyone could eat and rest up for the next big push. Unfortunately Paypal was not playing nice and a bug took part of the team a couple hours late in the day to fix. It turns out that the event title has a length limit that Paypal decided to not truncate, but rather send back an error. It was terrible as it coincided with the Honolulu Christmas Fund launch which we did not know was happening on Thurs. Oh well. We are releasing today with a bunch of small fixes and some changes to the ChipIn Badge (our new name for the Widget). Two major features we finished this iteration are not even visible as we have not built the admin wrappers for them yet. But by next iteration we will be releasing our blograising product! Hopefully that will be at the Dec 12th CommerceNet party! (fingers crossed).

Beth successfully finished her campaign today!! Yeh!!  She had another great post about her campaign

We released our ChipIn widget on Widgetbox today making it even easier to embed our contribute now badge on many more sites. Tagged Alpha

We finally tagged our development system Alpha. After months of planning and coding it was beautiful to finally take a round trip through the system. Jerome and Kev have been cranking and now they get to watch while we test everything this weekend and find all the bugs. Lots of other happenings going on with the company. We finally moved into our first pseudo office space, which is part living space and part working space. We have a large room downstairs where we set up three large fold up tables in a U shape with two huge whiteboards on the wall. The entire table area is filled with monitors, iMacs, and laptops. I even set up a WDS enabled wireless network spanning from my house to the office. It really feels like a clubhouse for all of us. There’s even a kitchen downstairs and a bathroom and shower for those long hot nights of work. As another bonus, the team is starting a group fitness program as we have all been putting so many hours in that we are getting out of shape. I think that mental and physical health is integral to productivity. I hope this means I can get back on my surfboards soon.

We can finally see our Beta launch date in the near future and should be finalizing our roadmap and schedule this weekend. I feel that we are at the starting line and just waiting to pull the trigger on the start gun. Once out of the blocks there is no going back as we will set off a series of dependencies for our launch.

We had a really nice dinner with some of our seed round investors at last week. Much thanks to everyone who has supported us so far. Since we are still in stealth mode, I will have to name them in a later post.
