Every ChipIn event now has a corresponding RSS feed, which means that you can use it to be notified whenever a contribution is made. Within the feed, you’ll be notified of:

• When the event starts and ends
• When contributions are made (time and amount)
• How far away the event deadline is
• How much more you’ll need to reach your target amount

To use this feature, first you’ll need to find the Subscribe to RSS link in the right column of event status pages. You can drag this link onto your RSS newsreader to subscribe to the feed, or right-click on the link, select “Copy Shortcut” or “Copy Link” in the menu that appears, and paste the copied location into any RSS reader.

What’s an RSS reader?

An RSS reader is an application in which you can view and organize multiple RSS feeds. Free applications exist for all major computer platforms, and you can even find Web-based ones. Here are a few:

• On the Web
  Google Reader
  NewsGator Online

• Apple Macintosh
  NetNewsWire Lite (others)

• Windows
  SharpReader (others)

• UNIX
  Liferea (others)

Organizers can import email addresses directly from Hotmail, Yahoo, Google, Outlook, and most other formats. This feature is available for organizers starting a new event and is located under the text box used to add participants.

You can now resend the ChipIn invitation email for an event to participants who have not yet paid. Move the mouse over a participant’s name. A menu will appear with a link that will allow you to resend the invitation.

You can now add participants to an active ChipIn event. On the event status page, select “Edit ChipIn” or select the “invite more participants” on the page. Add more participant emails to the “Additional Participants’ Emails” field. That’s it! Note that you cannot add participants to events where you have specified that participants must pay an equal amount.

Delete participants from an event by moving the mouse over a participant’s name. A menu will appear with a link that will allow you to remove the participant. You cannot remove participants that have already contributed or declined.
